Import bank transactions into Google Sheets, no CSV exports
Downloading a CSV every month, cleaning up columns, or converting PDF statements by hand is the slow way to get your money into a spreadsheet. Bank Statement Genie skips all of it: connect your bank once and your real transactions land in a Google Sheet™ you own, one that keeps updating itself.
The CSV grind vs. automatic sync
The manual CSV / PDF way
- Log into each bank's website every month to export a CSV
- Wrangle mismatched columns, date formats, and headers from every bank
- Convert PDF statements by hand when there's no CSV option
- Copy and paste rows into your spreadsheet, and remember to do it again next month
- Your Sheet is only ever as current as the last export you bothered to run
The automatic way
- Connect each bank once, no monthly downloads
- Transactions arrive already structured in consistent columns
- No CSV files and no PDF statements to convert
- Nothing to copy or paste; the Sheet fills itself in
- Your Sheet stays current on its own, monthly on free, near-real-time on paid
How to set it up
Three steps, about five minutes, and you never touch a CSV again.
Sign in with Google
Sign in with your Google account so the Sheet can live in your own Drive. Bank Statement Genie uses
Google's narrow drive.file scope, which means it can only see and edit the one Sheet it
creates for you, not anything else in your Drive.
Connect your bank through the secure login
Pick your bank and log in through its secure connection. That login happens on the bank's side, so the app never sees or stores your banking password. It works with 12,000+ banks across the US, UK, Canada, and Europe.
Your Google Sheet is created and keeps updating itself
A Google Sheet appears in your Drive with your transactions in it. From then on it refreshes on its own, once a month on the free plan, or near-real-time on the paid plan, so the spreadsheet is always up to date without another export.
What you get instead of CSVs
No CSVs, no PDFs
No monthly exports and no PDF statements to convert. Your transactions arrive in the Sheet already structured, with consistent columns across every account.
Always current
The Sheet updates itself, once a month on the free plan, near-real-time on the paid plan, so you're never looking at last quarter's snapshot.
You own the Sheet
The spreadsheet lives in your Google Drive and belongs to you. Build your own formulas, share it, or disconnect whenever you like, your data stays yours.
Works with 12,000+ banks
Connect banks and credit cards across the US, UK, Canada, and Europe. The bank login is secure and the app never sees your banking password.
Or let the data come to you
Don't actually want to live in the spreadsheet? A simple dashboard and optional twice-weekly recap emails mean you can see where your money went without ever opening the Sheet.
Get your transactions into a Sheet, automatically
Sign in with Google, connect a bank, and watch your Sheet fill itself in. The free plan covers it, and there's no card to start.
